Max Zorn’s Special Releases are the annual launches of new art collections long known as the Special Sales. Each art collection usually brings together seven to ten new original tape artworks developed over the preceding year, in different sizes and price ranges. This website is the exclusive online venue for the release.

The introductory, or early-bird, prices are offered directly by the artist as a way of thanking collectors and keeping his art accessible. The release introduces a new body of work at the beginning of its exhibition life, around its first presentations during Miami Art Week. It gives people who cannot attend the international fairs an opportunity to collect directly from the studio.

The next release opens on 12 December 2026. The opening time and participation window will be announced here before launch.

The online release usually takes place around the new artworks’ first in-person presentation during Miami Art Week, when Art Basel Miami Beach and other major international art fairs bring collectors to the city. Max has presented new art collections at SCOPE Miami Beach, Aqua Art Miami and CONTEXT Art Miami.

In 2026, Max will present the new collection of artworks with The Sykes Gallery at Art Miami, a leading international contemporary and modern art fair. Art Miami runs from 1–6 December 2026, including the VIP preview on 1 December. The online Special Release follows on 12 December.

Half the available pieces in each series will be allocated first come, first served; the other half by lottery.

Max’s tape originals are made by hand, cutting and layering packing tape on acrylic glass. Some compositions form a limited series of Similar Originals: Max rebuilds each artwork individually from the beginning, signs it, with small differences arising naturally from the handmade process. These are original artworks, not prints or mechanical reproductions.

For direct purchases, the listed price includes the lightbox, worldwide shipping, taxes, tariffs and import handling. The artwork arrives ready to hang. Prices and the details of each artwork are provided with the release.

Max makes each original by hand, cutting and layering packing tape on acrylic glass. Even within a limited series of Similar Originals, every artwork is built again from the beginning. With many collectors requesting work, this detailed process takes substantial studio time. Each completed artwork also needs to be finished and fitted to its lightbox.

The tape layers are sealed between acrylic panels, including UV-resistant glazing, and illuminated with low-heat LEDs. This construction helps protect the tape from air and humidity and reduces ultraviolet exposure. Choose a place away from prolonged direct sunlight and strong heat.
